About me
Welcome on my website
Music has always been more than just a soundtrack to my life. It is a passion, a source of energy, and an endless source of inspiration. My name is Wendy Steenmans, a music photographer and journalist from Geldrop, originally from Vilvoorde, Belgium.
What started over twenty years ago with a fascination for concert photography grew into a lifelong passion for capturing the emotion, intensity, and atmosphere of live music. Armed with my camera, I aim to tell the story behind every performance: the connection between artist and audience, the energy on stage, and those fleeting moments that often go unnoticed.
Over the years, I have worked with numerous bands, festivals, venues, and media outlets within the rock and metal scene. My journey began at Rockportaal.nl, where I developed my skills as both a photographer and writer. Today, I continue to contribute to the metal community through my work for Metalfan.nl, covering concerts, festivals, interviews, and album releases.
I was also proud to serve as the house photographer for the FemME Festival, a unique event celebrating women in metal. Experiences like these have allowed me to meet incredible artists, travel to amazing venues, and build lasting connections throughout the music industry.
When I'm not standing in front of a stage with a camera in hand, I work as a nurse in home care. While these worlds may seem far apart, both are driven by the same values: dedication, empathy, passion, and connecting with people.
Whether I'm photographing a club show, a major festival, or creating portraits behind the scenes, my goal remains the same: to capture authentic moments and turn them into lasting memories.
Welcome to my world through the lens.
With kind regards,
Wendy Steenmans
